Deleting your data

How to disconnect a channel, delete your Arumy account, or ask us to erase your personal information — and exactly what each of those does.
Disconnecting a channel
You can revoke our access to a connected channel yourself, at the platform, without contacting us:
- Instagram: Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites → remove Arumy.
- TikTok: Settings and privacy → Security and permissions → Manage app permissions → remove Arumy.
- YouTube / Google: myaccount.google.com/permissions → Arumy → Remove access.
Because we do not keep a platform access token, revoking access does not stop anything that was still running on our side — there was nothing running.
What revoking removes
Instagram tells us when you revoke access, and we act on it automatically. When that notice arrives — or when you ask Instagram to delete your data — we immediately remove the two things your permission gave us:
- the record that you verified this channel as yours, so it stops counting as a connected channel and the check mark goes away;
- the copy of the channel's profile picture we stored, including the stored file itself and not just our reference to it.
What stays, and why:
- The channel record itself. Our team may have had your channel on file before you ever connected it, from working with you earlier. Revoking a permission you granted is not the same thing as asking us to forget the channel exists.
- The handle and display name. These are public on your channel and we can read them without any permission from you, so your permission is not what we hold them under.
- Campaign records. Your applications, your participation and the content you registered to a campaign are the basis on which a reward was calculated and reported.
To have the channel record itself removed, delete your account — that removes the channel rows too — or ask us (below) to remove one while keeping your account. TikTok and YouTube do not send us this kind of notice, so for those two, revoking access at the platform leaves the verification record with us until you delete your account or ask us to remove it.
Disconnecting does not end campaigns you have joined, and does not cancel rewards already earned.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself, in the app. Open Profile → Profile settings, scroll to Leaving, and choose Delete my account. The next screen lists exactly what is deleted and what is kept, and asks you to confirm — nothing is deleted until you do.
Deletion happens immediately, in that request. Your sign-in, your profile, your addresses and your verified channels are gone when the screen returns, and your session ends with them. What we are required to keep is listed below.
If you cannot sign in — you lost access to the Google account you signed up with, for example — email support@thefounders.kr from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my account". We confirm within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days. We may ask you to prove the account is yours before we act: acting on a request from the wrong person is the one mistake we cannot undo.
What we delete
- Your sign-in account: Google identifier, email address, name, profile picture, and your sign-in records (times, IP addresses, browser, language).
- Your creator profile: contact details, country, languages, agency and ambassador fields, and the notes our team wrote about you.
- Your shipping addresses, including the ones our operations team holds for you.
- Your payout account — the name and the PayPal address we send rewards to — and the notifications we sent you.
- Your verified channel records and the avatar copies we stored for them — including the channel records themselves, which revoking access at the platform does not remove.
- Your session, immediately.
What we keep, and why
- Campaign participation and settlement records. A reward was calculated and paid against these, so tax, accounting and audit law requires us to keep them, and either of us may need them to resolve a dispute. We keep them for as long as those periods require, reduced to the identifiers needed to reconcile a payment.
- Records we are ordered to preserve by law or in connection with a legal claim, for as long as that lasts.
We do not reuse the identifiers we issued for you. They are retired, never given to somebody else — other systems in our group may still hold a reference to them, and an identifier that came back pointing at a different person would be worse than one that resolves to nothing.
Asking for less than deletion
You do not have to close your account to limit what we hold. You can ask us to:
- have part of your profile removed and keep the rest;
- disconnect a channel you verified, and have its verification record removed;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- send you a copy of everything we hold about you.
Email privacy@thefounders.kr — these requests go to our privacy mailbox, not to support. Your rights, and how to complain if we get this wrong, are set out in the Privacy Policy.
